It is quite the experience to watch Frank paint these big pieces. Random swaths of color and then suddenly hundreds upon hundreds of figures start to appear, random, all over the canvas. It is almost unconscious, the way he works, and very inspiring to see. You could stare at a piece for a full week and still feel like you have not seen all of the figures and faces! Why "Crawling Pigtails"? There is a figure crawling, and a girl with pigtails...
This canvas is one of the smaller ones at 3ft x 4 ft.
These works are difficult to showcase in thee context of a blog, the screen size and color palette of the average computer is just too limited.
